Ensure the windows are properly adjusted as it is critical for smooth operation, energy efficiency, and long-term performance. Misaligned or improperly installed hardware can cause difficulties in opening, closing, or locking windows, which may lead to unnecessary wear or damage over time.
Important: If windows or doors become difficult to open or close, firstly check if the windows or doors are level.
Use a spirit level to determine if the timber frames are level. If not:
- Unscrew the frames from the wall boards.
- Level the frames using a spirit level.
- Reattach the frames securely at the bottom only.
If levelling the frames does not resolve the issue, you’ll need to adjust the window mechanisms. Follow the illustrations to adjust the sash position as shown below.

Tools required: 4 mm hex key.


Pivot rest / Corner hinge – Hinge side K

Locking cam adjustment instructions
Tools required: 4 mm hex key, flat and cross screwdriver.
